Amphora Cafe
About This Spot
Stepping into Amphora Cafe on Hope Road feels a bit like settling into a quietly cherished corner of Sale, where the pace softens and the familiar hum of friendly conversation welcomes you immediately. It’s the kind of space that balances a gentle buzz with a relaxed warmth—where mornings unfold with the soothing aroma of freshly ground coffee and afternoons invite lingering over a slice of something indulgent, all beneath the soft glow of natural light filtering through generous windows.
The atmosphere here is welcoming without pretense. Whether you arrive with a group of friends catching up over cappuccinos and vibrant rainbow cakes or find a quiet moment alone with a mocha and a book, Amphora adapts with ease to the rhythms of your day. Families feel at ease, too, drawn by the unpretentious hospitality and thoughtful touches that make the cafe a kind of gathering spot for both everyday moments and special occasions alike.
Food here is as much about comfort as it is about a quiet nod to well-made classics and seasonal delight. Breakfasts shimmer with familiar favorites—rich, attentive takes on eggs served in a variety of ways, from velvety poached eggs resting on avocado toast to a hearty full English plate that’s fuel for the day ahead. There’s a sense of care baked into the cakes and pastries, with delights like macarons and tiramisu inviting those afternoons when a sweet treat feels like the perfect finish.
More than just a place to eat or drink, Amphora embodies a subtle kind of hospitality; attentive without being intrusive, friendly but never loud. It’s a neighborhood refuge where the attention to detail in both kitchen and service gently encourages you to slow down and savor the simple pleasures of good company, a well-poured coffee, and a plate that feels thoughtfully crafted.
If you’re looking for a spot where food and conversation flow naturally, and where the energy hums with the quiet joy of shared lives—this is a cafe that quietly holds space for that.

Went to Àmphora Café Sale for brunch with a group of friends and kids. The atmosphere was wonderful, and both the food and service were excellent! Highly recommend trying the mocha and the panini – absolutely delicious

Our son made his First Communion yesterday, and the cake was made by Rhyna. It was absolutely wonderful! Besides being beautiful, delicate, and well-made, it was also delicious! One of the best macaroons I've ever had! The Victoria Sponge cake was excellent! Thank you!

If you like your cheesecake creamy, Amphora’s own Biscoff cheesecake is the most delicious I’ve ever had. (Just please don’t order the last piece if I’m behind you in the queue.)

What a fab cafe! Food was delicious and arrived fast, the staff were so nice and very helpful. It was a really nice atmosphere and they have yummy desserts too! I did expect them to have a kids menu as I was told it was a very family friendly place by word of mouth, unless we weren’t given it or missed it somehow, the food was all regular portions. So that would be my only slight improvement request!

Lovely cafe a short walk from the tram station. The food is excellent, especially the English breakfast with meat sourced from the local butchers. Friendly staff and nice decor.

Lovely cafe to stop at for a coffee and a light bite to eat. It is noisy and it’s busy so if you’re looking for somewhere quiet this is not the cafe for you. It’s definitely a winner for families with young children. The menu has breakfast and lunch options and there’s also a selections of delicious looking cakes. There is a good selection for vegetarians too. I decided to have the falafel sandwich and a Cappuccino. The coffee wasn’t the best and could have done with being a bit more thick and airy to create the frothy milk foam. The falafel sandwich was lovely but my only criticism would be have a more generous layer of the hummus. The staff were friendly and chatty and greeted me with a warm welcome. There is an outside sitting area however it’s looks over at the busy road and a block of flats which would put me off stopping for refreshments on a hot sunny day!
